GORDIC® GINIS®
GORDIC® GINIS® represents a complex solution to an information system of an organization. It covers economic administration, control of document circulation through the filing service, a number of registers and management administration, including software solution to administration proceedings management. The system is developed from the very beginning with respect to the legislation environment of public administration with high demands for security and authenticity, and has a number of modules available to support specific activities of state and self-governing authorities. It also includes applications to support e-government, including modern portal components. Thanks to these features, GINIS® is the most widespread complex information system in this field.
GINIS® and technology
GORDIC spol. s r.o. continues in its intended focus on the development of applications for the GINIS® information system in .NET. technology. This platform was selected in particular because of the modern concept of its technological architecture which allows most of the demands laid on GORDIC® software products at present to be immediately solved. Besides this, the .NET program model includes a compact and integral set of tools and components that represents a natural continuation of the development of the GINIS® information system in all respects.
The change in system architecture from client-server model to so-called n-layer architecture represents considerable modernization of GINIS® IS. This is a division of initially monolithic applications in more logic application units. Linked to this, we can characterize the current stage of system development as a move from the development of so-called thick clients to the creation of so-called distributed applications.
Openness allowing easy and safe data exchange with other ISs both within the organization and outside it is one of the remarkable features of the GINIS® system. The GINIS® integration platform covers a complex set of technologies focused on both process and data integration of heterogeneous software systems and applications. The GINIS® integration platform:
- unifies integration technologies on a common platform based on the use of international open industrial standards,
- allows trouble-free implementation independently of the organizational arrangement or physical division of a subject in more geographically separated localities,
- provides safeguarded data communication both inside the organization and outside it, for which it utilizes preferably existing subject IT infrastructure,
- supports an alternative approach aimed at the introduction of system integration with progressive architecture focused on services, which is generally known under the term Services Oriented Architecture (SOA),
- brings an extensive set of components verified in operation and supplied as standard that were created on the basis of practical requirements from already implemented integration projects for public administration subjects,
- it guarantees high flexibility, openness and easy expansion ability that originates directly from the basic concept of the GINIS® integration platform, i.e. aiming at the use of standardized technologies associated with utilization of the XML language,
- offers the opportunity to innovate and optimise existing processes in the organization with respect to reduction of total costs for IT infrastructure ownership.
Decision-making process support
The GINIS® information system significantly focuses on support of the decision-making process at all levels of the organization. This software support is implemented through a wide range of both standard and specialized outputs from individual administration, by building up various managerial superstructures according to the needs of users or through applications of the Information panel type associating outputs from individual GINIS® IS program modules in one place. Thanks to this, the user can create a wide range of views across administrations.
Quality of processes, products and services
GORDIC® spol. s r. o. is holder of the certificate ISO 9001:2000 for the field “SOFTWARE DESIGN, DEVELOPMENT, SUPPLY, IMPLEMENTATION AND SERVICE, INCLUDING METHODICAL REGULATIONS AND TRAINING OF USERS. SYSTEM INTEGRATION AND MANAGEMENT OF PROJECTS OF CONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS. Development of the GINIS® information is in the long term aimed at compliance with the requirements of Act No. 365/2000 Coll. on information systems for public administration, associated regulations and methodical advice of the Ministry of Informatics of the Czech Republic and applicable public administration information system standards. Compliance with these requirements is monitored and implemented in all life cycle stages.
GINIS® information system implementation methodology (MIG) was approved successfully with respect to conformity with the public administration information system standard for the requisites of information system life cycle, version 005/02.01 according to the Methodology for testing system conformity with external criteria. The methodology was also incorporated into the company’s quality system as a working procedure. The objective of specification of the methodology of the implementation process is the effective utilization of existing quality processes which are used by GORDIC® normally even separately in implementations, project management, analyses and training. Making it accessible to the client within project implementation ensures that the customer becomes an equal partner in implementation, has better knowledge of issues and can better understand the sequence of individual stages of the implemented processes. By specifying a common framework of activities and used tools including standardized templates, it is possible to speed up and make implementation more precise as far as time and also to minimize costs for its realization.
